Pls also take into account that with the original Maxis settings, networks (incl avenues, highways and rails) do not have high enough capacities, and can easily be clogged. I would also highly suggest dl-ing and installing my Roadtop Mass-Transit (RTMT) pack from the STEX (incl z1's patches), which allows you to place bus, subway, GLR and combined stations on existing networks, therefore not requiring demolishing buildings or reserving tiles. And trams (unlike in reality) aren't slow, they are actually fast, as they are technically elevated rail. You can either plan ahead or upgrade existing road networks, if the traffic justifies it. NAM's GLR (Ground Light rail) allows you to lay tram/rapid transit tracks as a separate network or on avenues, roads and streets. The ingame parking garage is huge and hideous, so you can dl some small open-air or underground garages from the STEX (I have made my own too, PM me if you want them). You can add a parking lot just next to increase their catchment area (it should be adjacent to the same road or street, as sims can't walk between lots - they technically exit the one station, take a short walk on the road and enter the other). The other station types (bus, elevated rail, monotail, subways) typically do NOT offer parking facilities (unless modded specifically) and therefore can only serve the buildings within walking distance from them. There are several small rail stations on the STEX that can be placed on the track, thus not taking much space, You can use them, if you want your rail network to look more like a commuter/suburban rather than an intercity service. ![]() This works quite well at the residential end (the station acts as a "collector") at the commercial or industrial end you will rather need a distribution mechanism (a small bus network, or even subways, if the area is very dense), or instead several rail stations. Please note that rail stations offer parking facilities too, so sims can drive to the station and ride a train to continue their journey (park-and-ride). My cities aren't yet large enough to warrant subways, but if they do, and they seem to require them I will add some underground lines too - they are easy to place, as they are not affected by the overground network. Instead I put a lot of busstops, which tend to act as feeders to the (faster) rail and GLR lines, which tend to act as "trunk" lines. I put some rails in my cities, but not all over the place. In general all "rails" are disruptive to the urban fabric, especially in residential areas and require careful planning. Mass-transit layout is highly a matter of taste or preference, and what is "optimal" depends on what one wants. Sorry about the long post Any thoughts are appreciated! hopefully faster commute times, but as a whole your city is well covered with mass transit stops on almost every block, of one kind or another. That's why I prefer the offset grid approach. The disadvantage is that, regardless of the means of travel, you hit lots and lots of stops. The advantage is a fine grid with a high capacity (triple). sims can get from a to b using 3 different ways of mass transit (at least, not counting train and monorail for now). Should they also be combined with bus and tram? If so then we have one grid, that is tripled, i.e. The tram is essentially subway as far as the game is concerned, so it also suggests more stations, in a fine grid. ![]() And again similar question: is it better to combine tram and bus stations, or make 2 offset grids, one of tram stations, the other of bus stations? Is there any benefit to having both?īus and tram are the slower but finer transit. But then one question is: why bother with train at all? Why not make just one finer grid with just monorail. So if monorail forms one grid, train would be a similar grid translated in x and y if you get my meaning. I design them to complement each other, not to double the lines. Personally, I consider train and monorail (or HSR) to be the long-distance fast travel. Don't mean to dismiss or belittle that aspect, but for this post I'm more interested in the mechanics. What is the best way to lay out bus, train, tram, subway and monorail stations? I'm speaking from an efficiency and game mechanics point of view, don't care about eye candy or flavour. A question about mass transit layout that I did not see answered around here. ![]() How to Play the Zuma Game?īalls of different colors show up on the screen and move in a spiral from the periphery to the center. And the best thing is, you can now play your favorite Zuma game free of charge too. There are multiple versions of the Zuma game online these days, and you can even download them on your smartphone to enjoy them wherever you may be at the moment and at any time you like. A year after its release, Zuma became so popular that it won the Game of the Year Award and became part of the standard PlayStation 3 download. The target is to remove the balls jumping on the screen and unblock the path to various bonus coins. The 3D graphics and effects enhance the game’s overall experience, yet it is still easy for your computer to process.Zuma is an arcade game that requires good logical abilities to think several steps ahead. At the same time, the game is challenging for players of all-user levels as there are limited controls and space to achieve the game’s objectives. Zuma is a suitable game for players that want a straightforward and easy-to-follow game. This makes Zuma a lightweight game that you can install on most consumer-level computers. In addition to the OS, you will also need 128 MB of RAM, a 500 MHz processor, and a DirectX 7.0 installed in your computer before downloading this game. ![]() It is now available on Windows 7 and Windows 8. Originally, Zuma is compatible with older versions of the Windows operating system, namely: Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, and Windows XP. Zuma contains two modes and twenty levels packaged in three-dimensional accelerated graphics and effects. Depending on the difficulty level, this can range between thirty seconds to four minutes. More points will be granted to you if you’re able to complete a level in record time. You will receive bonus points for causing several groups to explode consecutively. The accuracy ball helps you shoot better, while the explosion ball removes nearby by balls. ![]() The first two powerups keep you from losing lives, while the next two helps you take down more balls. The backwards ball pushes the outermost ball back up, while the slow-down ball stalls all the balls so they avoid the golden skull. Also known as power-ups, these are balls that only need to be activated. While pairing balls is the primary way to win, there are special balls that make this process easier. This means a new set of balls will match because you have eliminated all the balls that were blocking them. It will automatically disappear once the game detects a match.īalls can also disappear through a domino effect. ![]() Spin its mouth towards the balls so it will form a set of four. For example, three red balls are already on the track and you are lucky to have a red ball inside the cannon. You can eliminate as many balls as you can by firing the ball from the cannon towards a group of balls of the same color. The goal of Zuma is to eliminate all the balls that are on a single-laned, spiral track. By the fourth time, the game will end and you will need to repeat the same level. You are only allowed to do this three times. Should a ball touch the center of the track, a life will be taken from you. You will advance to the next level when you’ve eliminated all the balls on the track. To do this, you will need to shoot a ball from the frog-shaped cannonball towards the balls that match its colors. Zuma is a puzzle game where you must match three to four balls of the same color. ![]() This creamy, bold mac with the heat of Flamin’ Hot ® Cheetos ® will hit the spot with each and every bite. Nelson’s father had cared for him and his five siblings, Nelson’s mother who had a brain tumor and eventually passed and his second wife, who suffered from cancer and eventually passed as well. Nelson dedicated the finale, Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song” mixed with “Amazing Grace,” to the ordinary superheroes of the world, such as his mother, father and his second wife. The duo’s authenticity and sincerity came through in their discussion of their family and personal lives, often referencing their children as inspiration for certain songs they played that night, such as “Kung Fu Panda: Cello Ascends” and The Greatest Showman’s “A Million Dreams.” Schmidt dedicated Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years,” which is the group’s most-watched video on Youtube, to his wife of 28 years. Musicians from Glastonbury’s Chamber Orchestra took the stage for “Beethoven’s 5 Secrets.” The Piano Guys played songs that featured other artists, such as “Peponi,” an African twist on Coldplay’s “Paradise” with singer Alex Boye and “Someone You Loved” with dance duo Charity and Andres from World of Dance. In the group’s original “All of Me,” Nelson showcased the use of beating on his cello to create a unique sound, which he uses throughout many of the songs. Nelson introduced his three cellos on stage: A traditional 100-year old Italian cello, a French carbon fiber cello and a Chinese electric cello, which all create unique sound textures. The two had fun showing off their familiarity with their instruments, as Schmidt demonstrated his ability to play just as skillfully with his hands behind his back, as well as with his foot. “I feel like false advertising,” Nelson said in response. “It’s a little awkward that Steve is called a piano guy but plays the cello,” Schmidt said. Self-proclaimed “dorky dads” was the correct description for Nelson and Schmidt’s back and forth as Nelson poked fun at Schmidt’s dancing skills and Schmidt commented on Nelson’s misfortune as a cello player. The duo showcased a wholesome repartee between songs while discussing inspiration for certain arrangements and videos, their instruments and their journey.
